Fire Wave, Valley of Fire State Park
Description
Between Saint George, Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada, is an awesome state park and the next featured trail, Fire Wave. We really have loved the time we have spent at Valley of Fire. There are a lot of family-friendly trails there with respect to terrain and distances. You can have some great views and experiences without significant exertion, which makes it a perfect place to explore for varying levels of hiking ability. This park is packed with hiking and scenic view options without having to commit to a lengthy trip.
Fire Wave is our number one recommendation to check out at Valley of Fire. The rock is brilliantly colored. The exertion is minimal compared to the wow-factor you will get once you reach the Fire Wave. The colors undulate and are in dramatic contrast with one another. This is a great spot for photos and for a rest. It is a really unique feature that you must see if you are in this area.
Keep an eye out for desert bighorn sheep! Every time we have been to Valley of Fire, we have seen a herd off of White Dome Road.
