About Me and Us
If I asked ten people I know to write about me, I think the general consensus would be: Boy, she is particular and likes things a certain way. But dang, she is organized, loves her people, and is well traveled. Most would probably throw in something about my level of efficiency. This all lends well though to adventuring and optimizing our time on trips.
Things to know about me. I love rocks, hiking, taking photos, and anything involving being outside in Utah. We could get into a discussion of obsession versus passion when it comes to my love for rocks and hiking, but is there really a difference if the ultimate result is happiness and being healthy? You can never have too many rocks and you can never go on too many hikes. Personal mottos: “The early bird gets the worm, the parking spot at the trailhead, and the trail all to themselves”. Also, “It’s just another 1/4 mile or so”.
Seth and I got our first taste of Utah after living in the Salt Lake City area for several years after college. After a decade detour of living in the Midwest, Utah continued to beckon us and we heeded the call, moving back to this outdoor recreation Mecca in 2020. Since then, we have fully realized our inner explorers and are all-in on seeing as much as possible of the infinite options the West has to offer. Special thanks to Seth for his Go Pro work and film creativity. Oh, and for letting me plan hikes to my heart’s desire.
We are a family of five. The kids are with us on nearly all of the hikes you will read about. Include yours on your trips and trailblazing. They will amaze you with their ability to keep up. The quality time away from chores, distractions, electronics, and the day-to-day grind is priceless.
Our goal is to help you explore as an individual or as a family, embrace the outdoors, and make it easy to experience being an explorer.
